Feng Shui:
The purpose of this web site and the thrust of the talks given by Jim Loretta are designed to show how feng shui can be successfully applied in the traditional school setting to benefit both students and teachers; improved behavior and academic performance as well as better scores on standardized tests are just a few of the rewards that can come from using feng shui in the classroom. In both his talks and writings, Jim Loretta “de-mystifies” feng shui, distilling it into a very interesting and easy-to-understand format. He takes what seems an ancient and obscure art to most and brings it into the mainstream using the proven work he has done in his own school setting to provide examples.
Jim explains through an interesting and fact-filled format how feng shui follows basic principles occurring naturally in the universe that can have great positive impact on one’s life. In applying this ancient earth science, this improvement comes through the careful placement of things in our environment as well as the use of color, sound and other factors; he clearly shows the real workings behind feng shui, the “hidden energies”, so to speak, which are about frequency, vibration and electromagnetic waves. He uses his background in the martial arts and Chinese medicine to instruct about the chi or bio-energy of the body and how feng shui adjusts this energy in various ways to promote learning and influence health, behavior and emotional states.
Readers and listeners are given a full understanding of how feng shui can be of benefit in the traditional school setting and our office spaces and homes by revealing the very fortuitous connection that exists between the physiology of consciousness, the function of the human nervous system, and the physics of the universe.

Instructor Jim Loretta uses his 37 years in the martial arts to bring the benefits of what he has learned to his students. His talks and classes on tai chi and qi gong are easy to understand, and his many years of experience in teaching enable him guide classes in a way that allows students to learn quickly. He uses his background Chinese medicine and the martial arts and his experience as an educator to explain the workings of chi or bio-energy in the body, how this energy is the same energy that is manipulated in feng shui, and how it can be enhanced through tai chi and qi gong to promote health in the body.
In tai chi and qi gong, gentle body movements combined with breathing assists the body to take in oxygen and remove the byproducts of respiration on a very deep intracellular level, thus promoting stress-relief and relaxation and host of other health benefits. Unlike other forms of exercise, Tai Chi and Qi Gong leave one mentally alert and physically refreshed and relaxed with a lingering sense of inner well-being. Both Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong are ancient Chinese martial arts that are suitable for almost anyone, regardless of age or lifestyle. In harmony with the laws of nature, these two arts can stand by themselves or serve as wonderful supports for any strength training, aerobic conditioning, or other daily life activities. |
